Project
2nd Ashbourne Scouts Group

Modernisation and Refurbishment
of the Scout Hut

Brief:

The 2nd Ashbourne Scouts Group asked DWAD to design a purpose-built scout hut to improve facilities for future generations. The current building needs better insulation, modernisation and increased accessibility due to its location at the top of Ashbourne hill.

Outcome:

The timber cladding gives the feeling of outdoor adventure whilst also providing a warm and shielded building for the scouts. The balustrade offers safety and reassurance when participating in activities outside and the building is surrounded by walls with borders that can be filled with plants and shrubs to investigate and maintain. The building includes a lift and ramp and will enable easier access for visitors.

Although planning permission has been granted for the design, the scouts need donations to ensure the project can go ahead. If you would like to donate to the project, please visit the link below.

Project
The Park Medical Practice, Borrowash

Improving Facilities for Patients

Brief:

The Park Medical Group approached DWAD to design an extension for their practice in Borrowash. The group wanted to increase the size of the site offering additional consultation and treatment rooms. There was also a requirement to neatly join two existing buildings together to provide an internal walkway for patients.

Outcome:

The glass interconnecting walkway enhances natural light within the interior space. The layout is thought of with the patient in mind, with distinct areas for reception, waiting and treatment. The scheme also includes a lift for accessibility to upper floors.

Project
Abode Estate Agents Uttoxeter

Branch Design

Brief:

Abode Estate Agents wanted a modern building that reflected their company profile. Having worked with DWAD on previous projects Abode were reassured that any new scheme would have their interests and ideas in hand.

Outcome:

The clean, minimalist façade emphasises simplicity and elegance. The large windows allow for plenty of natural light, creating a bright and welcoming interior. The Abode logo stands out against the wooden cladding and attracts attention from the main road and surrounding businesses.
